Question

Other than not getting your periods what are the signs of a pregnancy?

Answer

Pregnancy symptoms differ from woman to woman. One of the first significant signs is a delayed or missed period.

The best way to know if you are pregnant when you have only recently missed your period is to do a pregnancy test. You could go to your GP or Family planning clinic for this. Urine pregnancy tests from the supermarket or chemist are also very accurate. http://www.fpnsw.org.au/sex-matters/faq/test_20081017.html

As time goes on after the missed period symptoms of early pregnancy can include nausea or vomiting, increased sensitivity to odours, tiredness, tender and swollen breasts, passing urine more often and cramps in your lower abdomen.

However, these symptoms can be misleading as you could just be premenstrual with most of these symptoms - or it could be something else altogether.

So if you are ever unsure, a pregnancy test is the best thing to do, and then see your clinic doctor or nurse.
