Question

When I was younger I went to a party and kissed another woman. Now I’m attracted to guys. Am I bi-sexual?

Answer

Many people think of sexuality as a range of sexual attraction. At one end of the range are people who are attracted to the same sex, at the other end are people who are only attracted to the opposite sex, and in between are people who attracted to both sexes. Sexual attraction may be different at various times in people's lives.

Lots of us experiment with our sexuality at some time as you have done. This can be from curiosity or as part of working out what sexual expression seems to fit for us.

You are the best one to decide what you are most comfortable with calling yourself. You sound as though you identify as heterosexual since you say you are only attracted to the opposite sex at the moment. If you were still attracted to and wanting to have sexual contact with women you might call yourself bisexual. One occasion of sexual behaviour with another woman doesn't necessarily mean that you are bisexual.

It is also very common for heterosexual women (attracted to the opposite sex) to have same-sex fantasies (and the other way round). Many women find it enhances their sex lives, even if they never want to do anything about it in real life. The most important sex organ is your brain.

Remember, the most important thing in any relationship is trust and communication. It sounds as if you communicate well in sharing past experiences. This can bring closeness and increase trust when you are in a relationship.
