Question

I have had several very loving relationships.I have never had anything sexually traumatic happen to me. I don't hate my body and am very relaxed and enjoy sex. I don't get pleasure from playing with myself and I have tried experimenting with a few things. I need to know if I am physically able to orgasm. I'm getting really annoyed, and my partners feel they cannot satisfy me, no matter how much I massage their ego.

Answer

How annoying of them not to believe you are quite happy with your sex life! If you are quite relaxed about having sex, enjoy what happens for you, and feel good in your relationships apart from this annoyance of having to convince your partners you are not bothered, then it really IS their problem, not yours. A lot of women don't have an orgasm with sex. It sounds like you are very normal.

It sounds as though you are quite comfortable with your body and have explored quite a lot with yourself, so you will probably know all the information in this, but if you like you could look at our web site: http://www.fpnsw.org.au. Go to Sex Matters, type in "orgasm" and there is a question for women/girls on how to practice having orgasms... just to see if there is something you hadn't thought of. Other wise if you wanted to explore things a bit more for yourself you could ring us at Healthline (1300 65 88 86) and we could offer you telephone numbers of clinics where there are experienced counsellors (all confidential) where you could go to talk about this.
