Question

I am 38, work full-time and have three teenage children. Although I love my partner I’m just not interested in sex anymore. Can you help?

Answer

Managing the demands of family life and outside work can be difficult and leave little time available to foster your relationship with your partner. For many women (and also men) sleep becomes a more urgent priority then sex.
Because the relationship with your partner is good, take some time to discuss the issue with him. Explore ways of sharing some time together at regular intervals and consider planning times to have sex (rather than waiting for an appropriate opportunity which may not eventuate) if that is possible.

Make time for a check-up with your doctor or a Family Planning NSW clinic as libido can be affected by hormonal contraceptives, prescribed medications and other drugs, and general health problems. It is important to eliminate these issues first.
