Is the vaginal ring as effective as the pill given that it has much lower hormone amounts?

Answer

The ring has the same effectiveness as the pill - with perfect use; the vaginal ring is around 99.7% effective at preventing pregnancy, and with typical use 92%. The hormones are absorbed very efficiently through the vaginal wall at a constant rate, which gives it the same effectiveness.
