FAQs

Question

I need to take the Emergency Pill today. I am taking antibiotics for a chest infection. Will the Emergency Pill still work?

Answer

Most antibiotics have no effect on the Emergency Pill (ECP).

A small group of antibiotics that are known as liver enzyme inducing drugs may interfere with the ECP. There is not a lot of evidence about this, but if you are taking any of these medications you may need to take an extra half dose (1 tablet) of the Emergency Pill. Give us a ring on Healthline 1300 658 886 so that we can talk about the type of medication you are taking.
