Question

Two weeks ago I took the Emergency Pill. I now have very heavy bleeding, much more than a normal period. It is getting heavier. I am worried about this. Could I be pregnant?

Answer

You should see your doctor straight away if, after taking the ECP (Emergency Pill), you have:

• a period that is unusual (too light, too heavy, too short, too long, too painful)
• you have any signs of an STI (sexually transmissible infection)
• increased spotting
• lower abdominal pain, or pain with sex.
