FAQs

Question

I take medication for epilepsy. Will this stop the emergency contraceptive pill working if I need to take it?

Answer

Some of the epilepsy medications can interfere with the Emergency Pill if they are liver enzyme inducers.

If you are taking these you may need to take an extra half dose (1 tablet) of the Emergency Pill.

Most of the more recent anti-epileptic drugs have no effect on the Emergency Pill.
