Question

Does using the injectable contraceptive affect the chances of me getting pregnant later?

Answer

The contraceptive injection (Depo Provera®/Depo Ralovera®) will not affect your overall fertility, or chance of getting pregnant but there can be a delay in the restarting of your ovulation after stopping the injections.

It can take, on average, 8-12 months for a woman's menstrual cycle to return to normal after she stops the injection.
So if you are planning a pregnancy in the next 18 months you should consider using another method of contraception in the meantime.
