FAQs

Question

My doctor started me on the Pill a month ago, but I don’t feel ‘right’. My breasts are sore and I feel sick in the stomach. Has the doctor given me the wrong Pill?

Answer

It is important to be sure that you are not pregnant. Occasionally someone starts to use a contraceptive when they are unaware they are already.

If you know you are not pregnant, it is important to know that the Pill can have side effects such as you describe. So while often the first Pill the doctor prescribes is fine, sometimes it means trying one or two others before you find the one that suits you best.

We always suggest that you give each Pill a trial for about three to four months. Side effects will often improve after a month or two. Unless of course you are really uncomfortable.
