Question

I am 29 and have been taking the Pill for about ten years. What affects will the long-term use of the Pill have on my fertility?

Answer

There is no evidence to show that the Pill has any effect on fertility. Most women, who want to have a baby, get pregnant within six months of stopping the Pill.

When a woman is aged 25 she has an 85-90% chance of falling pregnant by the end of a year if the couple do not use contraception. When she is 35 years old she has a 75% chance. Our fertility declines more steeply once we are over 40 years old. You are still in the age range where you are very fertile.
