Question

I take medication for epilepsy. Will this stop the contraceptive Pill working if I need to take it?

Answer

Some of the older epilepsy medications can interfere with the combined oral contraceptive Pill. (These are known as "liver enzyme inducers"). If you are on these you may need to take an extra dose of the emergency Pill.

Most of the newer anti-epileptic drugs have no effect on the Pill.
