New treatment for post menopausal vaginal atrophy

Summary Vaginal atrophy is a condition which occurs after the menopause causing vaginal dryness, soreness, itching, pain or bleeding during sex. The purpose of this study is to find out if the new treatment can improve these symptoms.
 

Who can participate

Women age over 50 years who are at least 3 years post menopausal and are experiencing vaginal dryness, soreness, itching, pain or bleeding during sex. You need to have stopped HRT at least 2 months before joining the trial.
THIS TRIAL IS FULLY RECRUITED

What to expect

Your participation will be for 18 weeks, with 6 visits to the clinic.You will be randomly assigned (toss of a coin) to 1 of 3 treatment groups. Either 1 of 2 different doses of the treatment or placebo.
You will receive a thorough medical and gynaecological check up, blood tests, pap test, ECG (recording of the heart beat) as well as a mammogram and bone mineral density test for osteoporosis.
All tests, visits and treatment are free of charge and completely confidential.
